APRIL 28, 2016 – THE BEGINNING OF THIS WONDERFUL ADVENTURE...

For five years now, you have shared with us the love of Haute-Loire, its great products and its culinary heritage. Whether you are restaurateurs, bartenders, grocers or simply lovers of fine products, the story of La Vertueuse exists above all thanks to you.

Here is a summary of the highlights from our first five years.

It was in 2016 that we created our first liqueurs: verbena and raspberry digestive liqueurs, as well as aperitif verbena, and we began meeting you at markets and events.

With these first products, in 2017, we discovered the International Agricultural Show. La Vertueuse in Paris – what a change of scenery! 😉 And what a surprise to see our digestive verbena liqueur win the silver medal.

Encouraged by this recognition, we expanded our range with two new digestive liqueurs: mint grown on our farm and pear from a producer in Ardèche.

Lovers of good products and proud of our crops, we also decided that year to offer natural herbal teas – a new alcohol-free way to enjoy our leaves of lemon verbena and peppermint.

In 2018, after a weekend in the mountains and meeting an organic producer of this iconic plant, we launched our version of digestive génépi.

Beyond liqueurs and always eager to surprise you, we partnered with a local brewery to create a verbena craft beer.

To delight both young and old, we also created our range of artisanal syrups: verbena, mint, raspberry, strawberry and lemon.

After three years, we needed to strengthen the team, especially during harvest time. Kevin therefore joined the company.

2019 brought new encouragement for La Vertueuse with the recognition of our mint liqueur.

The liqueur range expanded with two new flavours: the sweetness of chestnut liqueur and the freshness of lemon liqueur, which recalls the famous Italian limoncello. Later that year we also created our gentian liqueur from the Auvergne mountains, awarded a bronze medal at the International Agricultural Show.

That same year we also chose to develop apprenticeship and welcomed Pauline to strengthen our sales and communication activities.

In 2020, another colleague joined us. Marie strengthened our marketing and communication efforts.

The range also welcomed a new product: blackcurrant cream liqueur perfect for white wines and champagne. After a sunny summer we also created our regional pastis.

To contribute, at our level, to the fight against COVID-19 during that unusual year, we temporarily replaced liqueur production with the manufacture of hydroalcoholic gel and solutions to support healthcare professionals.

In 2021, a new beginning and a new challenge with the creation of our brewery in Yssingeaux.

From this summer onwards, you will discover our range of organic craft beers. There will be something for everyone: the roundness of a Pils blonde, the freshness of a white beer with verbena, and the character of an IPA.

The rest of the story is up to you…
